Senator Chuck Edwards is filing legislation titled “Buncombe County Tourism Jobs Recovery Act” that would enable the creation of a fund for tourism-related businesses.
The Job Recovery Fund will provide $5 million in emergency grant funding for tourism-related small businesses and nonprofits affected by COVID-19.
PRESS RELEASE: The $5 million grant fund was created by the Buncombe County TDA using revenue from occupancy tax collections designated for tourism product development and is expected to retain or create nearly 4,800 jobs.
