Convention & Motorcoach Servicing Focus Group
Recap from Meetings Held 1/24-1/26/05Comments and suggestions are as follows:
- Convention Services department to set up a hospitality table at 2/17 CDC meeting so partners can see of what one actually consists.
- Customer Service training organized by Carol Hensley – why were hotels/attractions not directly invited? First they had heard of this program.
- Training – how can front line staff of all industry partners learn about all there is to do to better serve the guest? Idea – use the www.ashevillecvb.com website for downloading weekly?
- Also, person-to-person training on basics of what there is to do. Because some of staff needing to be targeted are the ones that can’t leave the hotel, i.e. housekeeping, front desk and to reach all shifts, program should be brought to properties. Possible front desk notebook with activity info updated weekly/monthly or as necessary?
- Convention Services should be at year prior’s conference to promote following year’s meeting in Asheville – could impact attendance numbers.
- Convention Servicing – Remind Industry Partners what it is that we do, via email newsletter, TTDC and CDC meetings.
- Encourage use of www.exploreasheville.com website for guides and visitor information, and calendar of events.
- Hospitality training, different than customer service training, working with frontline staff, from restaurants, front desk and housekeeping.
- For MotorCoach Service package, expand itinerary ideas. NCMA was such a success for servicing this year, should go again next year and expand awareness of things so simple as motor coaches are allowed on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
